Meet and Pitch #2 with Kaitlyn Sanchez, Agent

Date(s) - 01/23/2022
3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Meet & Pitch is a series of Zoom events designed to help you hone your “elevator pitch” while sharing it with an acquiring agent.  The 90 minute format will include an introduction of the agency, manuscript wishlist, Q&A, and a pitch session/first look from participants. After the event, you will have the opportunity to sign up for a Manuscript Review (critique) from the agent.

This event is the second in a series that five of the smaller (population-wise) SCBWI regions – Alaska, Hawaii, Nebraska, Nevada, and Brazos Valley, TX – are collaborating on to bring notable agents and editors to our regional members. If you are not part of these regions, please do not register. (Paypal charges us a fee that is not refundable, so when we refund you for not being in the region, we would need to deduct the nonrefundable fee.)

DATE: Sunday, January 23, 3pm Alaska Time / 4pm Pacific Time
Recorded and available for one week after the event to participants. Registration requires a password sent to SCBWI members of regions: AK, HI, NE, NV, and Brazos Valley, TX. Please check your email.

FEE: $15 – SCBWI members only from the participating regions.

LIVE PITCH – If you would like to pitch live, please select the option “Live Pitch” in the registration. We will choose as many as time permits. Pitches should be about 50 words, and 30-60 seconds when read aloud. Think: laser focus. In real life, your audience’s attention will wane after this. This event is designed to not let this happen to you! You will have the option to read your pitch live or have the moderator read it for you. Please send your written pitch to (email subject: Live Pitch – Kaitlyn Sanchez) by JANUARY 20th.

EXTRA: $55 Written Manuscript Reviews are limited to participants of the webinar and SCBWI members from Alaska, Hawaii, Nebraska, Nevada, and Brazos Valley, TX regions only.

  • Please review how to format your manuscript – FORMATTING HERE.
  • Registration for Critique pages open after the event.
  • The pages are due the next day, on January 24th by 5pm. (10 pages, plus 1-page synopsis).
  • Completed critiques will be emailed 4-6weeks from submission.

Manuscript Review REGISTRATION INFO is a separate registration and can be found here AFTER the actual event. Sign up here (link will become live) on January 23, 5:30pm Alaska Time / 6:30 Pacific, and closing when spaced are filled.
