Writers and Author/Illustrators

Send as a single DOC or DOCX attachment to the address provided on the registration page, labeled with your last name_title of work, or key word of title. Example: Tatalias_BestSeller

AUTHORS: Submit 10 pages or the complete manuscript of ONE picture books (not to exceed 10 pages). Additionally, you may include a one-page synopsis which will not be critiqued, but may provide the reviewer useful information for a more effective review. If you’re submitting the first 10 pages of a novel, we recommend including a synopsis. Copy and paste it to the beginning of your manuscript so you have a single document to submit.

AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATORS: Submit complete manuscript of ONE picture books (not to exceed 10 pages) and dummy in a folder labeled with your Name_Title. The folder should contain the text as one DOC and the dummy as a PDF. There is no extra charge for reviewing your dummy.

For text, please use the following standard submission format:

  • 12-pt Times New Roman font
  • 1-inch margins
  • Double spaced
  • Header on first page, upper left corner:
    • Your Name
    • Your Address
    • Telephone or email
  • Header on subsequent pages: title/last name/page number
  • 1/2 way down first page, centered: TITLE OF BOOK
  • Next line, centered: by Your Name
  • 2/3 down start manuscript
  • Each new chapter begins 1/3 way down page

Illustrators

Send up to four low-res images (72 dpi; as a jpg, png, tiff, or PDF) in one folder to the address provided on the registration page, labeled with your last name_title of work, or key word of title. Example: Tatalias_BestSeller

Everyone

Pay attention. Follow instructions. Instructions on an event registration page take precedence over these.
