Writers and Author/Illustrators
Send as a single DOC or DOCX attachment to the address provided on the registration page, labeled with your last name_title of work, or key word of title. Example: Tatalias_BestSeller
AUTHORS: Submit 10 pages or the complete manuscript of ONE picture books (not to exceed 10 pages). Additionally, you may include a one-page synopsis which will not be critiqued, but may provide the reviewer useful information for a more effective review. If you’re submitting the first 10 pages of a novel, we recommend including a synopsis. Copy and paste it to the beginning of your manuscript so you have a single document to submit.
AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATORS: Submit complete manuscript of ONE picture books (not to exceed 10 pages) and dummy in a folder labeled with your Name_Title. The folder should contain the text as one DOC and the dummy as a PDF. There is no extra charge for reviewing your dummy.
For text, please use the following standard submission format:
- 12-pt Times New Roman font
- 1-inch margins
- Double spaced
- Header on first page, upper left corner:
- Your Name
- Your Address
- Telephone or email
- Header on subsequent pages: title/last name/page number
- 1/2 way down first page, centered: TITLE OF BOOK
- Next line, centered: by Your Name
- 2/3 down start manuscript
- Each new chapter begins 1/3 way down page
Send up to four low-res images (72 dpi; as a jpg, png, tiff, or PDF) in one folder to the address provided on the registration page, labeled with your last name_title of work, or key word of title. Example: Tatalias_BestSeller
Pay attention. Follow instructions. Instructions on an event registration page take precedence over these.
